Artist Spotlight: TWO BLOCKS AWAY

There’s a specific kind of music that doesn’t beg for your attention – it just earns it, quietly, track by track. TWO BLOCKS AWAY is exactly that kind of act.

The Stockholm-based production duo, made up of John Haage and Nils Norberg, came together in 2022 with one clear purpose: make sounds that feel lived in, not overproduced. Two years in, they’re delivering on that promise in a real way.

A Sound That Sits Right

Their music lives at the intersection of Scandinavian pop sensibility and electronic warmth — melodic enough for a casual listen, layered enough to reward the second one. “One in a Million” (the lead single from their debut EP, co-written with Elijah) is the clearest statement of intent: a hook that lands clean without feeling forced. “BYE,” “Chemicals,” and “On Your Own” round out a catalog that already feels like it has a point of view.

They also know how to collaborate well. “Sunrise” with TooManyLeftHands and The High has a festival-ready brightness to it, and their Beatport release “CAN U FEEL IT” (with ShezAr and Thomas Irwin) shows they can move comfortably across electronic subgenres.

Worth Following Now

TWO BLOCKS AWAY are at that stage where following them actually means something. The debut EP is rolling out, the live circuit is opening up, and the production quality is already punching above their current profile.

They’re not still figuring it out. They’ve figured it out – the rest of the world just hasn’t caught on yet.
